DEXA Scan
DEXA stands for Dual Energy X-Ray Absorptiometry. This is the most commonly used test for measuring bone density (strength).
It can provide details about your risk for osteoporosis (bone loss) and fractures (bone breaks). By measuring tiny reductions in bone density, a DEXA scan makes it possible to diagnose Osteopenia or Osteoporosis in their early stages.
A DEXA scan uses a lower dose of radiation than standard x-rays and can produce more detailed images than an x-ray.
Dexa scan appointments can be scheduled Monday through Friday during normal business hours.
